Popular and friendly pub serving lunchtime meals, not far from both the main line and Severn Valley Railway stations, and a short walk up the hill over the railway bridge and into the first street on the right.
Two rooms are served from a central bar, and there is a large beer garden at the rear with bench tables and two shelters, one with a TV showing live sports matches. Two regular beers from Wye Valley and one from Ludlow are supplemented with changing ales.
It has a reputation for excellent home-cooked food available during the day, sourced from local suppliers, and a traditional roast dinner on Sundays.
Quiz night is on the first Thursday. There is also a resident football team. It has won local CAMRA awards for its friendly community atmosphere.
Level access from the car park to all areas and a low step up to the WCs (not adapted).
