This is a restaurant, where drinking alcohol, including draught and bottled beer, is only allowed when food is being consumed.

Originally started out life as the Poolstock Labour Club then became The Beer Engine where Wigan CAMRA had their beer festivals many years ago. The building then became Jaydees before finally becoming the Shanghai Palace. The Shanghai is made up of a reception and the main dining room. Upon entry you are welcomed by a large Buddha figure in the reception room where you can sit and enjoy a drink whilst deciding what to eat. The main dining area is a large open plan room decorated with authentic Chinese furnishings.

Opening times: Monday To Thursday 12.00am - 11.30pm, Friday 12.00am - 12.00 midnight, Saturday 3pm - midnight.; Sunday 12.00am - 10.00pm. Sun
