This Pub is Permanently Closed
Adjoining the Halfway House and Grade II Listed, this is a former Heritage Pub, but is currently closed. According to the listing this is "A now extremely rare example of a rural beer-house which retains its single public room intact." It was also an early entry in the Good Beer Guide in 1975. It was described as "One of the few remaining traditional country pubs in the area; no bar as such." and served Burtonwood Mild. The new management from December 2015 at the Halfway House next door has continued to renovate the beer-house (real-ale from the cellar on gravity), and intend to use it as a B&B and for other special events/parties etc. Keep an eye on the website for the Halfway House next door for announcements. The phone number is also for the Halfway House.
Plans announced for conversion to residential use 2020.
