The current building was built in the mid 1960's to replace the pub which stood on the same site and which had been demolished. It is very much a village local run by a landlord who has presided since 1991. It consists of a public bar with pool area, plus a lounge The bar has a log burner and the lounge an open fire. It was once a part of the large local estate of the Shrewsbury & Wem Brewery.

May close early if quiet.
