Historic Interest

The Schooner was probably built in the early 1960s on the site previously occupied by the Crown & Anchor (also known at some stage as the Archers). Operating since at least 1964, It changed name to the Weighbridge serving Tetley beers until it closed on 7th February 1982 and was demolished.
