This Pub is Permanently Closed
This Grade 2 listed former Georgian farmhouse and Inn dates from around 1780. It is primarily an award-winner restaurant with 5 letting rooms, but there is a cosy bar, and the management are quite happy to serve beer to anyone who wants a quiet drink without food. There is a small restaurant to the front, and a larger one in a rear conservatory, where a feature has been made of a 40 foot well. The property is rated 4-star by the AA. In the days when it was a pub known as the Saracens Head, it was once a part of the extensive local estate of the Shrewsbury & Wem Brewery.
HAS STOPPED SELLING REAL ALE (JUN 2014).
Currently CLOSED until further notice (Oct 2014)
