This Pub is Closed Long Term

Situated on Manchester Road at the junction with Carr Road, with smart decor, carpets, furniture and seat coverings. Also available are a pool table and a hi-tech juke box. See Facebook for food menus (includes Sri Lankan dishes). Closed January 2026.

Historic Interest

A beerhouse in the early 19th century: owner Benjamin Couldwell applied for a full license in 1836. the pub was situated on the turnpike road between Manchester and Sheffield. (Pearson, C. (2020),'A Drink with our Ancestors,' page 72).
