An smart city centre hotel with a bar open to the public and with a couple of handpumps we hear. Alfred's Saxon Bronze available just before Christmas 2019.

November 2022 report said cask ale not available. At the time we were not sure if this was just off for the day or removed permanently. January 2023 report confirms permanent loss of cask ale though the handpumps remain but unused.

Historic Interest

19th century reconstruction of older building with some early 18th century, and even 16th century remnants. Grade II listed - Historic England List UID: 1350731
