Formerly the popular live music venue; Rudi's blues Café, which closed a few years ago, this basement venue has reopened as an arts venue, theatre and cinema. Though no draught real ale is sold, bottled beers, including some from the local Chantry Brewery, are available when it is open for events. Originally opened in 1963 as the Turf Tavern, the third pub to carry that name in the town. Closed by November 2019 as operators, rotherham Underground have moved to the Trades nearby. Future uncertain.
Historic Interest
Originally the Turf Tavern, opened in 1968. This was the third pub to bear this name. The original timber framed building on Bridgegate being demolished in 1928 and the replacement designed by H. L. Tacon, next door to the current site, being demolished in 1962.
