Originally a farmhouse, this large inn only opened in 1964. The large single bar is simply furnished, with lots of wood. Children, dogs and muddy boots are all welcome. At one end is what used to be a small brewery, easily viewed though a large window; at the other end is a raised area meant mainly for diners. Good varied pub food is served every session, and all day on Saturdays, Sundays, school holidays and in summer. There are good views of woods to the south and the moorland of Ibsley Common to the north. The pub's remote location plus an adjacent campsite make this a great base for exploring the north-western part of the New Forest. The pub runs a Wednesday quiz, live music on Sunday evenings in the summer and occasional beer festivals.
Opening times likely to be longer in summer.
A February 2024 report said that while handpumps are still on display they are not used for dispensing beer, it is unclear what the dispense method actually is. If you have more information on this please use 'submit updates' to let us know.
This Pub serves no changing beers and 4 regular beers.
