This remote pub, tucked away at the bottom of a gravel track, started life in the 1700s as a pig farm. It has been much extended since then, featuring many rooms on different levels, offering accommodation in a separate building, and a large, tree-shaded beer garden with a children's play area. Weddings are hosted in the function room.
Nearest to the car parks is the Main Bar at the top end of the original building, in traditional style with steps down to more seating and dining areas. A more modern single storey extension has the Whitmore Bar, which also services the outdoor areas.
The area is popular with walkers, cyclists & horse riders; the pub can even provide stabling and cycle storage. In warmer months a 6km circular walk can take in both the High Corner Inn and the Red Shoot Inn - start from either pub.
