Pub reopened under new management 11/10/2024. The phone number, email and Facebook page are new, but nearly everything else here, including opening & food service times, refer to how the pub was before it closed in June 2024.
The story begins in the 1860s. Johnnie Londoner was the nickname of John Roberts, a man so outraged by the refusal of the White Hart's landlord to supply medicinal brandy that he opened a bar in his own house. It is a handsome building, brick-built and diamond patterned. Inside is a large bar decorated with dried flowers, wood and stone tile flooring, half-panelled walls and an open fireplace. At the rear is a separate dining room. Food, much of which is locally-sourced, includes tapas, burgers and a variety of main dishes. Behind the pub are benches on covered decking, patio and small artificial grass area. There are weekly music events and quiz nights, and the pub is close to Blashford Lakes nature reserve.
