The Georgian Crown Tap was formerly an autonomous appendage to the Crown Hotel (q.v.); a broad, arched carriageway evinces its coaching past. It now revels in the status of a pure pub. The walls of the bar and lounge area are adorned with old-style advertisements for detergents, comestibles and other goods. A separate room is home to a pool table and dart board, and there is outdoor seating to the rear of the pub.

Historic Interest

18th century with 19th century alterations, originally part of the Crown Hotel. Grade II listed. Historic England list entry 1157282
