This is a large traditional pub with an L-shaped bar, directly opposite Witham rail station. It dates back to 1842 and has a low, wooden-beamed ceiling in places but was completely refurbished in 2014. The food is all locally-sourced and there is the traditional roast dinner on Sunday. There is a quiz night on Wednesdays. A cabaret act is being featured on the last Friday or Saturday of each month.
