Northfleet's Railway Tavern is recorded as having traded from 1808 until 1967, so it is safe to assume that it was renamed at some point! It is known to have been part of the tied estate of Dartford brewers Kidd's in the early 20th century, and as a cockerel is just about visible in the photograph, it probably ended its days as a Courage house. It was later demolished, along with most of the rest of Northfleet, for no good reason, and the site is now occupied by a car wash.
