Historic Interest
In May 1981 this was a Tetley Keg pub called the Railway Inn, but by January 1986 the pub had been closed and then reopened as the Quill and Pen and was selling Jennings Bitter and Tetley Mild and Bitter. There was an article in February 1986. However by May 1986 only Jennings Bitter remained. In October 1986 this was replaced with Walkers Best Bitter. By October 1988 the Beer Range was Tetley Mild, Websters Yorkshire Bitter and Ruddles County. The pub had been bought by Regal Knights when it was renamed and they sold the pub in June 1990 and in the 1992 programme for the Great North Western Beer Festival it was selling Tetley Mild and Bitter and Jennings Bitter. By 1993 it was called Donaghy's, and in December 1993 it was selling Tetley Bitter and Guest Beers. In the first half of 1994 the pub was down as selling Tetley Mild and Bitter plus Jennings Bitter.
