A fresh modern bar in the ground floor of the Grade II* Listed Guildhall, built in 1825, the most prominent building in the High Street. The ground floor was originally open to the elements and housed market stalls but has been since closed in. Upstairs remains a Council chamber to this day.
Note the false windows upstairs and the Trafalgar Way plaque on the outer wall.
The now large downstairs bar serves six keg beers from Powder Monkey and real ale bottled beers from Goddards (owned by Powder Monkey).
All produce including a range of good whiskies and gins are from small independent producers.
Opens onto a cobbled frontage with tables in the warmer months.
A good food menu.
HOURS: As a new pub, hours for opening and food are flexible, so advice is to check beforehand if visiting.
