An architecturally fine pub, on CAMRA's Regional Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors. The narrow street frontage shows two impressive stained glass windows behind which lies a small snug, the bar counter and a longer seating area, There's an interesting coffered ceiling, locally relevant photographs and cartoons of long gone customers and staff on the walls. Local small brewers are enthusiastically supported, with three regular local ales. The whole has been sympathetically refurbished over the years by the owners and is an oasis of calm and peace near the busy Quayside drinking, dining and clubbing circuit.
