This pub is long-term closed!

This popular local pub, which has been a regular entry in the Good Beer Guide for many years, suddenly ceased trading in December 2023 when the tenant landlord of many years received a major increase in his rent from the building owners (Wellington)!

There was considerable local interest in early 2024 in trying to buy the Park as a community owned pub. But nothing came of initial enquiries and the situation has been quiet for some time.

In Summer 2025, copy of notices, from Wellington Properties applying for a new pub licence, were posted on the pub.

The convivial atmosphere in this small establishment located in a village side street attracts discerning drinkers of all ages. Four handpumps (sometimes three in quieter winter months) dispense an ever-changing range of beers, with particular emphasis on independent breweries from Wales and the west of England. Its been steadily redecorated over the last years in a relaxing wooden theme interior, with framed beer adverts scattered around the walls. A popular quiz is held on Thursday, with occasional music at weekends.
