Large L shaped room with the separate function room located at one side. The pool table is at one end of the bar area. Renovated in March 2023.

Historic Interest

A post WWII estate pub,formerly a Shipstone's house, the Oxford is one of only two pubs in the Bulwell Forest Ward. Probably named after Aubrey de Vere, the last Earl of Oxford, a cavalier and supporter of the restoration of King Charles II. De Vere's daughter Diana married the King's illegitimate son by Nell Gwynn, the Duke of St. Albans. The Oxford and the Duke of St Albans (1983) in Top Valley are the only surviving members of a cluster of post-war pubs named after Bestwood's association with the later Stuart monarchs and their local hunting lodge: Deer Stalker (1956); Nell Gwynn (1961); Cavalier (1964); Charles (1968); Royal Hunt (1978) and Blenheim (1980). As at November 2017, the freehold (NT349515) for the Oxford was held by Ei Group plc [Reg. No. 2562808], formerly known as Enterprise Inns. [Nottingham City Council, Bulwell Forest Ward / Nottingham North Parliamentary Constituency].
