The central bar, in the oldest part of the pub, has comfortable seating areas with real fires, low ceilings and ancient beams. Comfortable seating and settles give the place a cosy feel and in summer guests sit outside enjoying the evening sun.
The carvery and kitchen serve pub food and pizzas, with a carvery on Sunday.
There's a handy nearby farm camping for those that are staying in the area for walking and the railway, and the pub offers free self-contained motor home overnight parking if purchasing drinks and food.
Closed Mondays and Tuesdays except on bank holidays in summer, when it's open 12-10 for drinks only, and serves cobs from the the bar. During winter it's open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday only, and only serves food only Sunday. Call in advance for the dates when this starts and finishes if you are travelling to it.
Level access is from the car park to most areas and WCs (not adapted).
