Historic Interest
The New Inn dated back at least to 1854, operated by the Argyle Brewery which became part of Birkenhead Brewery in 1866. It faced Greasby Road and was replaced by the Red Cat which was built behind it. It was closed on 20 August 1964 when the newly built Red Cat opened and was then demolished.
