This Pub is Permanently Closed

The New England Restaurant & Bar is situate on the junction of York Road and Brook Lane North and faces on to a section of road which includes the A4 and elevated M4. It has been closed since 2005.The building is currently derelict and increasingly falling into disrepair. Demolition of the pub for redevelopment has met problems. In an emailed letter from Hounslow Council, advises that the applicant is appealing to the Planning Inspectorate against the refusal of their proposed development. 'Demolition of the existing building andPlanni the erection of a 20m high building comprising of 26 residential dwellings, a 170sqm Commercial space on ground floor and 15 car parking spaces with associated access and amenities'. See Planning Reference: 01244/AB/P7. Appeal Lodged 17/04/2012 and refused on 26/10/2012
