The popular bar has a traditional quarry tiled floor together with a real fire. A carvery restaurant is very popular. Meals can be taken into the bar and these do not require booking.

Valley House, the birthplace of A.E. Housman is nearby. Dating from the late 18th century this white-washed three gabled building has previously been a nail makers workshop and a brewery.
