The Nags Head is a pleasant white-washed rendered building that dates from 1788. The present landlady, Myra Byett, has been serving pints at the Nags Head since January 1983, making her the longest serving licensee in the Forest of Dean and probably Gloucestershire.
The pub is open plan in layout but solidly traditional. There is an upstairs skittle alley / function room. To the front of the Nags Head is a pleasant grassed area laid out with bench tables. There are extensive views to be enjoyed from an adjoining paddock, with a panoramic vista down towards the River Severn and onto the Vale of Berkeley and the hills beyond. The disused Berkeley Power Station is dominant in the landscape.
Sharp's Doom Bar is the only real on offer, enjoyed by the locals, and is usually kept to perfection.
Note the misspelt pub sign which proclaims that the pub sells traditional ales and draught largers.
This Pub serves no changing beers and 1 regular beer.
