This Pub is Permanently Closed
[This has now closed for general public access, but is continuing as a privately bookable function venue; per their facebook post 12th May 21 and email 8th July 21]
A new venue which opened in August 2013. This place is located on the only double moated site in the County, and is a new build with some traditional materials, and some unique building methods. It's set at around 2 metres above the ground with a wide wooden balcony to view the stunning scenery.
There is an impressive array of old tractors lining the car park in the Summer months, and two of Wem’s cycleway routes are just outside with facilities for horses (bring your own – you won’t see many car parks with tie-ups for horses!) There are many footpaths to walk the dog, and cyclists are more than welcome. All food is home-made, and it’s open for breakfast. Only one real ale available – but it’s pretty local, from Joules at Market Drayton.
Note that the whole venue can occasionally close for private events. Also, beware the beer pricing policy, a pint is reasonably priced, a half is on the expensive side.
