Opposite Knaresborough's Grade II listed railway station and signal box this former Market Town Taverns pub is, since May 2024, operated by Brew York. Six handpulls on the lower bar dispense real ales from Brew York occasionally with a guest from other Yorkshire breweries, and there are eight taps on the upper bar serving the brewery's keg beers. At least one cask and one keg option are gluten free. Beer selection and prices are displayed on large TV screens at the back of each room. The pub offers a modern split-level bar with wooden flooring throughout, a side room mostly used for dining, a function room in the basement and a sunny terrace at the back with views of the local church. A mix of pictures adorn the walls including some contemporary photographs of local scenes such as the station and viaduct. Food is available Friday to Sunday from a third party vendor, either order via an app on a smartphone or visit the kitchen in the basement and order directly from the food vendor. Accommodation is available in four en-suite rooms. Well-behaved dogs and children are welcome.
NB. Card payments only.
