This Pub is Permanently Closed
Built in 1490 as a nunnery, it became a pub during the Reformation. The Mariners Arms was once tied to George's Bristol Brewery later being absorbed into the Courage estate. It closed in 2015 with an uncertain future but an application for change of use into a Co-Op store was being considered in July 2020.
Historic Interest
Grade II Listed. Current building dates from Late 17th / early 18th century but built on 1490 foundations.
