Apparently, the only pub of this name in the country! (It can, allegedly, trace its history back to 1673 when it was the Little John Ale House!). However, the 1838 Cheshire tithe map states it as "House & Garden" and "building and Garden", with Julia Tomkinson as landowner and John Berrington as the occupier. On the OS 1875 as the 'Little Man Inn'. Previously a Greenall Whitley pub. Very much a "pub". A strong following for pub games (darts, dominoes & pool). Popular with the local farming and equestrian community. Good value home cooked food on Sunday lunchtimes. Can be difficult to find if you do not know the area. Try "what three words"
