Opened September 2020, this is a spacious, new-build pub with a modern feel, but with some exposed stone and brick, wooden beams and tiled floor. The main area as you enter is a large open room with tables for dining or drinking and a log burner to one side. There is a separate carpeted dining area to the right-hand side, and at the back behind the bar area is a separate ‘snug’ which leads out to a paved courtyard area. The pub was built by a local builder after the village’s only pub, the Crown Inn, was closed by a pubco who then refused to sell the pub to the villagers despite its Asset of Community Value (ACV) status. Four handpumps on the bar serve three Yorkshire real ales.
This Pub serves 2 changing beers and 1 regular beer.
