This award-winning friendly micropub, situated just off the pedestrian precinct, is comfortably furnished and carpeted, with a mix of high tables / stools, settees/low tables plus wall shelves for vertical drinking. The walls are adorned with unusual green man sculptures.
The Lanes features all that is great about Kent with real ales, cider, wines, a mead (from a secret Kent producer) and soft drinks from local producers. They also stock a great range of speciality gins, around 10-12 of which are from Kent.
Five real ales from microbreweries, predominantly from Kent, and over ten ciders are served on gravity dispense from the 3 level stillage located in a temperature controlled cellar room which has a viewing window in the bar.
A selection of gluten-free ales and the occasional vegan-friendly beer is stocked.
There is no keg beer, lager, or piped music - how a bottled pilsner from the Romney Marsh brewery is usually available.
Food is not normally available however snacks from the deli opposite can be brought in and the pub can put on a feasting board with 48 hours notice.
Children are not permitted under the terms of the premises licence. Dogs on a lead are allowed.
