The site will become a branch of Irish pub chain Nancy Spains in December 2026.

Historic Interest

Grade II listed, Historic England ref 1213598. In the 1970s a theme pub, the Frigate (and before that the Cranbourne dating from the 1890s and following the building of Charing Cross Road, and major new construction in the area https://alondoninheritance.com/london-streets/charing-cross-road-sandringham-buildings-newport-market, and the Cranbourne Tavern and Hotel apparently dating from at least the 1840s), a Watney's Schooner Inn combining pub and steak-house with a fantasy naval themed styling.
