Rebuilt in 1845 and grade II listed; both 58 St. Martin's Lane and No. 1 New Row round the corner and now integrated into the building, are listed. Following a period as the Angel & Crown, the site reopened as a branch of Mr Fogg's in autumn 2015. Note the swing-sign with Phileas Fogg in his round-the-world balloon basket! Upstairs is a "gin parlour and salon" i.e. cocktail bar; downstairs there are nineteenth century artifacts adorning the walls and hanging from the ceiling, plus an aviary filled with plants and stuffed birds.
The main ground floor bar is a Victorian tavern concept with appropriately costumed barmaids; faux casks on the back bar only house keg fonts; the keg beers include a house best bitter & house pale ale, brewed by Shepherd Neame. No cask ale.
