Located on the A6 between Derby and Belper, this stone-built Georgian inn is dramatically situated at the foot of sandstone cliffs and close to the river bridge. A wood-burning stove at one end of the elongated bar often adds to the ambiance of the cosy pub interior. Original period furniture and quarry tiled flooring date from the time the pub was built. Ales may be viewed on Real Ale Finder and regular live music is an added attraction. Bar snacks are available including pies, cobs, quiche, mezze and cheese board with vegetarian options.
