This bar opened as the Kelsey House in May 2015 following refurbishment from its previous existence as the "Beckenham" in more of a cafe/bar/brasserie style. Modern minimalist decor with exposed pipework and various high benches. No real ale but there are Meantime keg beers such as London Porter and London Pale Ale as well as Adnams Mosaic.
Previously called the "Greyhound" (until 1981), "Beckenham" (1981 to 1989), "Flat Foot Sam's" (until 2006), "Box Bar" (2006 to 2009), "Tonic Bar" (2009 to 2012) and then back to the "Beckenham" in 2012 until it closed in March 2015.
Historic Interest
Rebuilt in 1962 with an office block above, this was the site of the Greyhound Hotel. The original building dated from the late 17th C and was converted into a hotel in the 1870s with stables behind. The new Greyhound was on the ground floor of the new block and was owned by Whitbread.
