This Pub is Closed Long Term
Corner pub situated a few yards away from the defunct Shipstones Brewery. The pub was once the social club for the brewery. The main entrance is via steps to the front door, but there is disabled access towards the rear on request. Although small, the pub has several distinct areas on two levels, including a function room, each with its own character.
Historic Interest
The Horse & Groom is an Edwardian building in Nottingham City Council's Star Buildings Conservation Area. Asset of Community Value registered 19th May 2016 and nominated by the Nottingham Branch of CAMRA. The Horse & Groom has an entry on Nottingham Civic Society's Draft Local Heritage list (09 December 2013), which noted that the pub was built in 1909 to designs by architects Evans & Son as "Shipstones' Brewery Tap, then their Social Club".
