This Pub is Permanently Closed
Wedge shaped Watney pub designed by E. B. Musman FRIBA of Messrs Musman & Cousens; rebuilt in 1963 having stood in Oxford Street until 1959. The modern upper bar is in contrast to the much larger cellar with its wood panelling. The cellar also has a food servery and is used by families with children. There is extensive pavement seating.
Ownership passed to S&N, later Spirit. Acquired by Capital Pub Co from Spirit in January 2006. Capital was purchased by Greene King in July 2011, pub closed in August 2011 and demolished by October 2011 for retail development.
