Large pub, built for Mappins Brewery of Rotherham in 1936. Originally named King Edward VIII, but quickly renamed when the king abdicated. Refurbished by Ember Inns, in late November 2025. The interior has been opened out, with improved disabled access to toilet facilities. There is an extensive garden and patio to the rear and a function room upstairs. Food available daytime and evening plus takeaway food. Cask beers are cheaper on Mondays and Thursdays. The cask beers are sourced from breweries large and small throughout the country. Sometimes there are less real ales available. A general knowledge quiz take place on Thursday evenings.
