This is a restaurant, where drinking alcohol, including draught and bottled beer, is only allowed when food is being consumed.
Incorporates Junipers cocktail and dance venue below.
A new venture for the Elite Pubs group, being in the centre of a large town, whereas others have been in the country. On entry the restaurant area is to the right with the gas fired pizza oven at the end. Ahead is the bar. To the left is an area for drinking with a few low tables and a high table with high stools which are difficult for shorter or older people to mount. Two large copper tanks and pipework dominate the centre wherein the Czech Staropramen unpasteurised lager is held. Part of the ceiling is covered by wooden planks but the restaurant has an air of elegance with good lighting and furnishings. An open kitchen affords a view of the food being prepared. Takeaway pizzas may be collected from a hatch near the bus stop. Those requiring only drinks may also use the tables outside as well as inside.
