Reopened as a Desi Pub on 01/01/25 - we wish it well as it has had a very chequered past. The following quote comes from the Hot Dinners website - "This is still very much a pub that you can pop in for a pint, with a separate dining room if you want to come here for lunch or dinner. On tap are Guinness, Cobra and Beavertown, which will go nicely with bar snacks like their coastal prawn mini dosas and the jackfruit croquettes.

Reopened in Dec 2022, again under new management, this time as The Fixer Upper and then closed on 04/04/24. No cask beer. Previously The Sussex Bar, before that The Smyth Arms. It had reopened in Nov 2021 as the Sussex Bar. 24/02/22.
"The Smyth Arms has been forced to close its doors indefinitely. I’m struggling to find the words to express how grateful I am to you all for supporting us in creating such an incredibly special community pub. (I will try in to my next post). I have to leave the pub tomorrow, so today I will be there all day packing my belongings. If you would like to bring a tin and say goodbye, just drop on by."
25/11/19 update - As of late autumn / early winter 2019, under new management; patron has connections to nearby North Nineteen and William Butler Yeats.
