A Marston's pub dating back to about 1870, situated half way up a very steep hill not far from the Market Place and with a good view of Belper from the outside terrace. Under the current ownership since 2023 and has become especially popular on Cask Ale Tuesdays with all cask ales at reduced prices. Pizza or pie meals are available every day and also ham or cheese filled cobs at most times.

At the front there are 4 steps up to the patio then a further step into the pub. At the side there is a ramp from the car park to the patio then level access through double doors to the bar area. Toilets are on level access but there is no accessible toilet. The function room is only accessed via steps.
