Girton Social Club, Girton

REAL ALE not available
Operator: Girton Social Club
The Village Institute, 48 Cambridge Road, Girton, CB3 0PJ (View on Google Map)

This is a club, which means that the bar may be only open to members.

Friendly, volunteer run, village social club. The building, dating from 1910, is owned by Girton Village Institute and leased to Girton Social Club. Refurbished in 2009. Large, well maintained room partly separated into two sections. The rear section contains the pool table. The larger front section can be hired for functions. The dark wood bar is accessible from both sections. The beers are primarily keg and include Theakston Bitter and the popular Courage Dark Mild. When functions are on they may get real ale on the single hand pump. Free of tie, it is frequently sourced from local brewery, Lord Conrad. Non-members are welcome but will be asked for a £1 entry fee. The club has darts, pool and skittles teams.
