This Pub is Closed Long Term
There are splendid views of the Shropshire hills from the rather nice terrace at the front of this pub situated in an attractive village down some country lanes from the A49. And, although the location is most definitely rural, it is only some 8 miles from Shrewsbury town centre. The Fox is a local success story in that around 2000 the previous owner wanted to convert it into a private dwelling. Fortunately, local support and enthusiastic landlords condemned the proposal to failure and it is now a fully functional village local. There's a small bar at the entrance, giving way to a comfortable lounge to the right, and a dining room to the left giving access to those views!. New Landlord August 2021.
The local community are hoping to take pub over. A business plan has been drawn up, and an application for funding from the Community Ownership Fund was submitted in October 2023
A local group has formed a Community Benefit Society with the aim of purchasing the Fox and establishing it as a Community Pub.
As of 28/7/24, is still closed with a for sale sign outside.
