This Pub is Permanently Closed

Renamed in November 2014 after a major refurbishment, this pub is set back from the main road in an elevated position. It has a vast open plan interior with contemporary decor and furnishings. There are TVs dotted around the walls. Many community groups use the pub for meetings/lunch etc.

Historic Interest

Formerly the Chestnut Tree, the Fat Cat Sherwood is located in the City of Nottingham's Mapperley Park and Alexandra Park Conservation Area.

The Fat Cat Sherwood has an entry on Nottingham Civic Society's Draft Local Heritage List (09 December 2013), which notes that the Chestnut Tree was converted from a private house called "The Chestnuts".

As at November 2017, the freehold for the Fat Cat Sherwood (NT175834) was held by Ei Group plc [Reg. No. 2562808], formerly Enterprise Inns.
