This Pub is Permanently Closed
This handsome-looking town centre pub stood on New Road where Tesco currently (2020) plies its trade. First opening its doors in 1826, it appears to have traded successively as a Russell's, then Truman's, tied house for most of its existence. Sadly it closed in 1969 and was demolished shortly afterwards.
