Guests welcome
Club House for the City's Amateur Rowing Club situated on the banks of the River Wear. A function room is available which can accommodate up to 150 people and the club can cater for any type of event. A very popular club with over 400 members.
The club is housed in a modern building tucked away at the very end of Green Lane, about 200m past the Rugby club down a narrow single track road, at a curve in the River Wear. The walls of the bar area are decorated with rowing oars and photographs of teams and individual members who have represented the country at national and international level.
The bar is not restricted to members and anyone is welcome to call in for a drink. The opening hours given are the minimum ones and the club is often open longer hours especially if their are events of functions being held - so its best to check.
Extensive outdoor garden facilities in the good weather but food always available from the integral 1860 Bar & Kiitchen
This Club serves 1 changing beer and 1 regular beer.
