Reopened 2nd June 2022 with major refurbishment, after a near miss closure. Family and dog friendly just outside the city centre, and very much a locals pub, traditional with a twist. Boasts possibly the best pub garden in the city very much a sun trap in the summer. Well worth a visit.

Whilst a community group did not succeed in their plans to purchase the pub, through their efforts, the pub was purchased by a local businessman who owns three other pubs in the city, and the pub reopened in June 2022.
