This pub has delightful hanging basket flowers in the summer and it has won the Test Valley pubs in bloom award many times. Thursday night is steak night and there is a pub quiz night on Tuesday. Bar snacks are served in the afternoon during the summer and the 'full service' restaurant serves classic pub food and specials at lunchtimes and evenings (see website for the menu).

There is now bed and breakfast accommodation (with free WiFi) in a 2018 constructed building adjacent to the pub's main building.

Update September 2023: We've had a report that the pub is under new ownership and the kitchen has been closed for some months. The current opening times are uncertain and the pub may close earlier than expected. Accommodation is still available.
