Historic Interest

The Crown and Anchor was on this site dating back to at least 1881 when a beer license was in operation. Leased to Bents Brewery from 1903. Probably also known as the Archers at some time (address given as 21 Park Street). Closed and demolished, probably in the early 1960s and a new pub, the Schooner, built on the site.
