This friendly well-established free house provides eight cask beers, including a porter or stout. In addition there is at least one real cider. Offers 'proper' pub food including homemade chips, pies, chillies and burgers. A central island bar serves the games room, lounge and tap room. Occasional beer festivals are held. Monthly tutored whisky tastings (every 2nd Tues of every month) take advantage of the extensive range. There is a rear outdoor area, and an upstairs function room which hosts regular live folk sessions. Children are welcome. No meals Sunday evening.
